The influence of outside foreign language and culture exposure in EFL classroom collaborative writing tasks

<p>This study examines whether foreign language acquisition can be acquired through sharing information when students participate in knowledge building forums using English as the lingua franca. It also explores with higher levels of linguistic and cultural awareness relating to share this their peers throughout writing process. The was conducted two Spanish classrooms, where participants were bilingual both Catalan Spanish. A pre-questionnaire used determine level exposure culture outside classroom. scored on responses then divided into three groups: low-, medium-, high-level culture. one-way ANOVA classroom would influence pre-test scores, there is an interaction effect between scores (F = 5.17). Upon conclusion collaborative task, a post-test 4.47). student increased at same rate across groups. In tasks, learn about content from peers, disperses group shared understanding upon completion. However, have prior participating these tasks do not get dispersed manner, rather, all groups show improvement skills, but does equalize groups.</p>
